This Mi'kmaw petroglyph is one of the ones we use for "Child".
We use orange to honour Phyllis Webstad and her story of having her orange shirt taken from her at 6 years old on her first day of residential school.
Because of Phyllis' story, orange has also become the colour we use to honour the children who survived as well as those who never made it home.
White is often the colour used to depict and honour spirit - we acknowledge the little spirits and mourn the victims of these "schools".
